Alex’s journey began in Mexico, where he lost his father in a workplace accident at just four years old. Poverty and years spent separated from his mother after she left for America shaped much of his childhood.
As a teenager, Alex reunited with his mother in America, where he picked vegetables in the hot California fields and, for a time, lived out of his car.
Arriving in America speaking no English and with little educational support, Alex faced obstacles that seemed impossible to overcome.
Yet even in life’s most difficult seasons, hope can take root.
